A large, press moulded bottle, made with slabs of iron-rich stoneware clay, and glazed with Tenmoku rock glaze and Nuka ash glaze. It is decorated on each face with an expressive swipe through the wet glaze, revealing the rust coloured clay body beneath.
The glaze is a deep black tenmoku, made using only one rock - a locally dug, glacial till - and ground, recycled glass.
The neck has been dipped in a Nuka glaze, made using locally sourced Cherry ash, which has run down and melted into the Tenmoku.
N.B The price is reduced due to minor bloating of the clay body, visible in the images but not overly detracting from the overall work.
Fired in the gas kiln in a reduction atmosphere.
