A small plate for storing precious things, or serving amouse-bouche.
Thrown on the wheel with a blend of high-iron stoneware, and glazed with a Nuka ash glaze.
The alkaline glaze is a traditional North Carolinian recipe, made up of only locally sourced Cherry ash, ground glass and local clay, in this case a sandy, earthenware clay from my old street in Stoke-on-Trent.
The glaze is a satin green / brown where thinner, with a beautiful rivulet pattern caused by the viscous glaze stringing as it flows down the sides of each cup. In the base of the plate the glaze has pooled to a deep, opalescent blue, akin to a pool of fresh water.
Dimensions: 12.5×2.5cm
Weight: 170g
