A thick, rustic plate made from a coarse slab of iron-rich stoneware. Suitable for serving sushi, gyoza, or for burning incense and storing trinkets.
It has been pressed onto a wooden mould and glazed with a Nuka Ash glaze.
The off-white, Nuka glaze is made using locally sourced cherry ash, and has been decorated with a dark streak of crushed, local rock - a glacial sediment rich in iron. The two glazes have dissolved into one another in the intense heat of the kiln to give the surface great depth and complexity.
Fired in the gas kiln in a reduction atmosphere.
