Thrown on the wheel with iron-rich blend of stoneware clay. Glazed with a nuka ash glaze and tenmoku. The nuka glaze is layered over a black tenmoku, causing fine, white-blue streaking where the glazes interact, akin to snow on a mountaintop.
The Nuka glaze is made using locally sourced cherry tree ash. The Tenmoku glaze is made using only one locally dug iron-bearing rock - a glacial sediment - with a small addition of crushed, recycled glass.
Fired in the Gas kiln in a reduction atmosphere.
