A cup thrown on the wheel with white stoneware clay, decorated with horizontal bands to catch the glaze where it pools.
The glaze is an amber coloured ash glaze - made using cherry ash, ground glass and a local, sandy, earthenware clay.
Chunks of quartz in the clay body have caused small fissures and ruptures. The cockle shells on which it was fired have flashed the base of the pot with salt vapours causing gentle blushing.
Fired in the electric kiln in an oxidised atmosphere.
Capacity: 280ml
Dimensions: 7×9cm
Weight: 230g
